Castle Kolven consists of building parts from the 15th and 16th-century. The manor with its striking half-hipped roof displays a typical residence of the lower nobility in the Münsterland. Today, it serves as the cultural centre of the district Coesfeld with changing exhibitions.

A closed churchyard development, with simple half-timbered buildings (small storehouses) is situated in the vincinity of the St. Johannis church.
